Celebrating a Women's Month Milestone: The Unveiling of the HASAAN Center in Partnership with Bulacan State University
This Women's Month, we are proud to celebrate yet another significant achievement—the launch of our partnership project with Bulacan State University (BulSU), the HASAAN Center. HASAAN, which stands for Handicrafts and Arts from Society for Appreciation and Advancement of the Nation, is a testament to the enduring relevance of our cultural heritage and the innovative spirit that propels it into the future.
This project, supported by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and BulSU, includes the creation of a "puni"-themed room, a space dedicated to showcasing our efforts in reimagining the traditional art of puni weaving with a modern twist. The room not only serves as a cultural exhibit but also as a hub for our training programs, which provide opportunities for local and international guests and students to learn the intricate craft of puni weaving. These programs aim to nurture appreciation for our rich cultural heritage while fostering creativity and innovation.
We are deeply honored that the unveiling of the HASAAN Center was graced by esteemed guests, including CHED Chairperson Prospero De Vera, BulSU President Dr. Cecilia Gascon, and BulSU College of Hospitality and Tourism Management Dean Aimee Madlangbayan. Their presence highlighted the importance of this milestone as a celebration of collaboration and cultural preservation.
As we reflect on this achievement, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to CHED, BulSU, and our dedicated Team Punique. This cultural milestone reaffirms our commitment to honoring and advancing Filipino heritage through art and innovation.
More power to CHED, BulSU, and all those who share in our vision of preserving and promoting our nation’s cultural identity!
