"PUNI" is a traditional art of weaving knots or by folding or braiding leaves. The first record of using "PUNI" art is when Jesus was welcomed by leaf fronds "Palaspas" when he entered Jerusalem.

Puni Weaving Art

can be seen all over the Philippines, but only in Bulacan has a formal teaching of PUNI art. Through the study and improvement of Noemi P. Garcia (Mother of Puni Art in the Philippines) Mrs. Garcia named puni forms based on what can be seen in nature as inspiration e.g. Tala, Ibon, Rosas, Tigbi, Butil, etc. Puni uses the "Over one, Under One Weaving Technique" They follow the natural flow of the leaf when weaving and have a natural locking system. (E.g. Suksok, Tiklop, Hila, Buhol, etc.)
